Privacy

Short version: your notes never leave your browser.

BrowserNotepad stores your notes only in your browser, in an on-device database on your own hardware. There is no account, no backend application, no remote database, and no endpoint that receives note content.

What is stored locally

  • Your notes: titles, text, folders, tags, and timestamps.
  • Local version history and app preferences such as sorting.
  • Which note was open last.
  • Your light/dark mode choice.

What is never collected

  • Note titles and text are never transmitted anywhere automatically.
  • Note text never appears in logs, analytics, or error reports.
  • There is currently no analytics and no advertising on this site.
  • The only intentional ways content leaves your device are exports you trigger: downloading files, backups, copying text, or using your device's Share action.

Clearing your data

Clearing your browser's site data removes your locally stored notes permanently. Download important notes as .txt files to keep a copy elsewhere.
