Daily notes without an account or a cloud
One note per day, opened or created with a single action.
Typehall has a daily-note workflow for journalling, logging, or scratch-planning: one action opens today's note, creating it with a human-readable title if it doesn't exist yet. Opening it again never creates a duplicate — the same local date always resolves to the same note.
How it behaves
- Uses your device's local date — no server clock involved.
- Daily notes are ordinary notes: tag them, file them, pin them, export them.
- Everything autosaves locally, like the rest of the workspace.
Three workflows that fit
Journal. Open today's note in the morning or at night and write a few lines. Because the note already exists when you return, there is no blank-page decision — the container is waiting. Tag entries by month if you ever want to re-read a stretch.
Work log. Keep one running line per thing you did, timestamped by hand. At review time, search the workspace for the project name and every daily note mentioning it surfaces — no separate time-tracking tool required for a lightweight log.
Daily plan. Start the note with today's three intentions as a checklist, then tick them off in place. Pair it with a template: create a "Daily plan"-style note from the template picker once and copy its structure. Journaling without the pressure
A journal habit dies on expectations: not every day deserves an essay. Lower the bar to one honest paragraph — what happened, what it felt like, what you want to remember. The daily note already exists, so there is no setup friction; the only decision is whether today gets three lines. Tag months (2026-10) rather than moods, so re-reading a stretch later is one filter click. Skip days without guilt — a journal with gaps you actually keep beats a streak you abandon in February. There is no streak counter here on purpose: nothing watches, nothing judges, the pages simply accumulate.
Organizing months of daily notes
Daily notes accumulate fast — thirty a month without trying. They stay manageable with the ordinary tools: one folder for the year (or quarter), tags for themes, and search when you need a specific day. Pinning is for active work, not archives; let old daily notes sink down the recents order instead. Organizing notes covers the patterns in full.
Good to know
Daily notes live only in the browser where you wrote them, and clearing site data removes them — export or back up anything you want to keep. There is no streak tracking, no reminders, and no account watching you write. That absence is the point: the habit has to be yours, because no server is keeping score.
